Last week 6th graders started reading The Stars Beneath Our Feet by D. Barclay Moore. Our 6th grade team partnered with librarian Rachel Green, and — as an introduction to the new Westinghouse Library MakerSpace — students made Lego sculptures that describe them! Like Lolly, they enjoyed being creative, even if there were no instruction manuals. 😜 Some students were very deep in their sculptures — a balloon that is smiling on the outside but is actually rather fragile, a safe tiny home, and a sculpture always in “balance.”
