MS 915 8th graders engaged in a two part exploration series with Ms Anneliese Zausner-Mannes from Big ReUse to learn more about local sustainability initiatives.
Students learned about opportunities to compost and recycle in Brooklyn, and collaborated with Council Member Lincoln Restler’s office to care for the street trees around our school. Students also cleaned up the trash in our garden and cared for our raised beds.
Special thanks to Ms Anneliese Zausner-Mannes, Ms Channa Camins, and Councilman Lincoln Restler for this partnership and allowing our students the opportunity to make a difference in our community, while addressing real world issues surrounding climate change.
