One of the best parts of being at PS 8’s middle school is going to “out-lunch.” Not all middle schools have “out-lunch” and almost no elementary schools do. Out-lunch means kids get to go out to MetroTech during the lunch period. We have to stay in a certain area. We have the option of going to six different places, all right by each other. My favorites are Au Bon Pain, the Deli and Five Guys. You can also bring your own lunch and eat outside with your friends. Or bring it back inside and eat in the cafeteria. Some kids eat out every day, other kids eat out a couple of times a week. I do extra chores at home to earn money for lunch and I have to budget my money.
