El Dia De Los Muertos is the day Mexicans celebrate the dead. To celebrate at MS8, 8th grade Spanish classes did both written and art projects then celebrated with a party.

Sports Teams at MS8

The MS 8 physical education teacher, Mateusz Gotowicki, has led the growth of after-school sports programming at MS 8 through the citywide CHAMPS league for middle school students (the name was derived from the attributes the program seeks to support in its participants: Cooperative, Healthy, Active, Motivated and Positive Students).

A Slam Dunk

This past Friday evening MS8 hosted DUNK FOR 8, a fun-filled, new community-wide event at the Westinghouse campus. Held in the recently-renovated Westinghouse gym, the evening’s free activities included fun basketball games and skills contests.

Our Middle School Chorus Travels to Pig Iron!

This past Monday, PS 8’s middle school chorus went on a field trip. It wasn’t just any trip; it was a trip to Baryshnikov Arts Center in Manhattan for a professional workshop with Pig Iron, a theatre group based in Philadelphia.
