Last evening our students made us proud. Our young scientists stood next to their science projects which represented the culmination of their hard work over the last few weeks. Each group designed an experiment, tested their designs, and then concluded whether or not their results supported their prediction. The process entailed a lot of collaboration, revisions, and hard work on behalf of our students. They were persistent and rallied until the end and then presented their work proudly last night. Our guest scientists were impressed with the quality of their work and the high levels of engagement, scientific knowledge, and enthusiasm they showed. — Nicole Marcellin, MS8 Grade 8 Living Environment Teacher and Grade 7 Science Support Teacher
It was an amazing night at our 4th annual Celebr8 Science event. Visiting scientists from NYU, City Tech College, and the NYC DOE Department of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics came and learned about and spoke to students about their projects and work. Fun science activities were available for all. See more photos of both Celebr8 Science and the ribbon cutting for our new science laboratory and art room that happened immediately beforehand on our Facebook Page!
