What is your background and education?
I was born in Europe and moved to the United States in my mid-twenties. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in education from Brooklyn College and a Master’s degree in Special Education from Touro College. I also hold a math license degree.
How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching 6th-grade math for the past 14 years. This is my fourth year teaching at MS 915!
What is your favorite part of teaching?
My favorite part of teaching is seeing students develop the mathematical confidence to persevere through tough problems, embrace productive mistakes, and challenge themselves by trying new strategies and ideas without seeking help from me as a teacher.
What do you like to do outside of school?
When I am not teaching I love to travel. My favorite part of summer is taking long walks on a beach any chance I get. I also love to read, hike, ski, and kayak with my family during my free time.
