Our middle school held its student council election last week. Sixth and seventh graders voted for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer from among the seventh grade class, along with a Sixth Grade Ambassador. Maud M., President
The President is the student leader of the Student Council and is charged with being a positive role model and student leader for our community. The President’s main role is to use the Student Council to give students a real voice in our middle school. The President will also be called upon to help at school events, represent our middle school at outside school events, run student council meetings, write a monthly letter to the community, and bring fresh ideas to the Council.
Elsa H., Vice President
The Vice President works closely with the President to help carry out her responsibilities and brings new ideas to the Student Council. In addition, the Vice President will be asked to step in if the President is unable to fulfill any of her responsibilities.
Chrystal J., Secretary
The Student Council Secretary is responsible for posting Student Council announcements and taking the minutes at each Student Council meeting. The Secretary is also responsible for organizing Student Council documents and communicating with the student body about Student Council meetings and activities.
Ella R., Treasurer
The Treasurer works with school staff to carry out any financial responsibilities for Student Council sponsored events. In addition, the Treasurer is charged with developing fundraising ideas for our middle school.
Gabe F., Sixth Grade Ambassador
The Sixth Grade Ambassador represents the sixth graders at Student Council meetings. The Sixth Grade Ambassador’s job is to give his fellow sixth graders a voice by listening to them and sharing their ideas at Student Council meetings in a meaningful way.
