Leah Oppenzato grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn and Massachusetts. She attended Swarthmore College and Bank Street College of Education, and has been teaching for twenty-two years in both New York City and Hoboken, New Jersey. This is her 2nd year at MS 915. She lives in Windsor Terrace with her wife, two teens, a dog, and a lizard. She is active with the New York City Writing Project and synagogue Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives.
